YELLOW FEVER
Black vomit, yellow jack, American plague are some of the other common names for Yellow Fever. The patients afflicted with this virus exhibit jaundice-like symptom; therefore, it is known as yellow fever. This disease is mainly transmitted to the human beings through mosquitoes.
Vaccinations are available for yellow fever. It is important to get vaccinated because there is no cure for this disease yet. Some of the treatments that doctors recommend are fluid replacement, blood derivates transfusion, and treatment for hypotension. Yellow fever may cause renal failure and patients may be required to go through dialysis.
Symptoms of yellow fever are head and muscle aches, vomit, fever, loss of appetite are some of the symptoms exhibited in the early stages. In advanced stages, it leads to multiple organ failure, seizures, delirium and ultimately death.
As this disease is transmitted by mosquitoes, keep the surroundings clean. Do not let your surroundings operate as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes. Do not consume contaminated food and water. To ward off mosquitoes, use wire mesh screens as it could prevent them from entering into your house. Wear clothes that completely cover your body to prevent mosquito bites. The best way to prevent yellow fever is to maintain a clean environment.
